Customers sometimes share their personal information in a live chat session. To help protect their sensitive data, WhosOn uses secure PCI/PII masking.
This means that any credit card numbers typed inside a WhosOn chat session will be masked, helping you meet strict PCI DSS security standards. Here’s how PCI/PII masking works:
• From within the WhosOn client, you create rules to detect credit card number patterns
• WhosOn can then run a pre-storage database procedure against each line of transcript
• This allows masking where PII data is detected, or triggered warnings based on your settings
• During chat transfers, a clean-up procedure can be executed
• This will either create a new chat, or mask individual lines
