WhosOn Server Operating Systems

• Windows 2003 (All Editions)
• Windows 2008 (All Editions)
• Windows XP Professional (Not Home) *
• Windows 7/Vista *

At least 512mb ram.
At least 400mb of free disk space, plus space for the database (size depends on how busy your web sites are).
SQL Server 2005/2008 full or Express editions.
.NET Framework 2.0 or higher.

If you want to host your own visitor chat you will need:

• The PC will need a permanent Internet connection.
• Static Internet IP address or connected to a router with a public IP or DNS name (or use a service like www.noip.com if you have a dynamic IP).

Does not need to be installed on your web server, but can be if the web server is Windows based.

* XP and Vista are not server operating systems and have limits on the number of inbound TCP connections.
